Re: gauges and senders

The OMC trim sender worked backwards from the Mercruiser. And if these are Teleflex gauges, they aren't a current production line. So you will have trouble finding a matching replaement.

so trouble finding a match replacement? I don't want to match what I have....... I want to replace it with new gauges but I need someone to inform me that typical senders such as oil pressure water temp volts fuel and trim could be replaced. if I have to I guess I could look for a set that comes with senders

Ayuh,... A trim gauge is a waste of dash space anyways,... I use the seat of the pants instead,.....

The rest of yer gauges are just plain ole I/O gauges,...

thats good you use the seat of your pants when using your trim, I have to dock in very shallow water and would like to have a visual when idling into port on where my lower unit is, thanks for the help

I know where you're coming from there. We have to trim our Mercruiser half way into the red to get in and out of our dock. It works OK if you only idle.
Any speedo, tack and temp gauges will work. Oil pressure will work as long as it shows the some range. (0-80, 0-100)(or the metric equivalent) The trim gauge has to be for an OMC.

It's amazing what you think of when you wake up at 3:00am. I realized that I neglected the fuel gauge. Anyway, they are also universal. Some manufacturers use a three wire sender, but I believe that the only difference is that they can be calibrated.
I hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks! I did order my 7 piece gauge set. I don't need the speedometer and it came with a trim gauge, while I am in the wiring stage I think I will at least try the gauge while moving the trim sender by hand.....if it works great ...if not I will order the omc version
