Gear Change in Cobra SX drive

1995 Cobra SX drive with 5.8 EFI in a 23 ft Four Winns Horizon.

I have an opportunity to buy a never used Cobra SX drive with 1.43 gear ratio. My current drive is a 1.51 ratio. Would using a smaller pitch prop make up for the gear ratio difference?

Ayuh,... Generally speakin',... Props are only available from about 15" pitch to 23" pitch...

Soooo,... It'll depend on where yer starting from...

I am using a 21 inch prop right now at sea level. When I was in Colorado and Utah, I used a 19 with good results. On the face of it, Im thinking I should be able to go down another pitch or two with good results using the new gearing, but am needing another perspective on it.
