The manual calls out Hi-Vis or Premium blend. Can I use BRP HPF Pro Gearcase Lubricant? I know it's a silly question and I'm almost positive I can, but I'm new to this and want to make sure I don't screw anything up. Thanks for the help.

All mechanical shift J and E gearcases can use the HPF-Pro gear oil.

the electric and the electro-hydraulic shift gearcases need to use Premium Blend, formerly known as Type C.

I'm guessing the code is in the serial number for the motor?

Yes that lube will work perfectly.

You can even use the mercury brands too....... in your motor you are running a marine type gear oil.

It's easier to change the lube with the johnson blend. The mercury lube requires a special tool to open the container.
-------Yes, I'm working on my Mercury, lately... :mad-new: :)

OMG that's right!!! The other thing to watch out for is do not buy the oil for the "counter-rotating drive" engine ;)
