Hello Just had a failure of my Gimbal housing (some of you replied to that thread). Good news, parts are on the way and should be installed next week. Thought I would start a new thread with a question about "what's wet" in the top of the gear box. Reason for my question is I have a slight drip with the motor trimmed all the way UP coming from the upper unit. Of course the bellows for the u-joint is unattached (as that's what failed). My question is: which cavities (bellows/u-joint/upper part of the pivot housing) should be WET (i.e. is there outdrive gear lube in there normally)... my drive was plenty full as I just changed it and this was only the second trip. Just wondering if that's expected given the u-joint bellows is no longer attached and the outdrive is totally full? Obviously the top the upper unit is WET as that's where the dip stick resides. But is the pivot housing wet and/or the u-joint/bellows?
Thanks in advance.
Eric
