Gear lube

I have a 1995 Evinrude 40 hp,the owners manual says use OMC Hi-Vis Gear lube,my question is is Shell Nautiless SAE 90 the same thing.<br /><br />Thanks in advance.

Yup! That is to say it'll replace HiVis - I doubt they're the exact same thing.

I always use OEM stuff. That means Hi Vis.<br /><br />Don't forget to change the fill/drain plug gaskets/seals. Otherwise, your L/U service is possibly, for naught.
