Purchased this used 2007 Bayliner 175 today. It has a mercruiser alpha one in it. And the brass barbed connector broke off into the gear lube hose leading to the exposed half of the motor after our first ride on it. I’ve read that I must go in from the engine bay and loosen the nut holding it to the transome to swap it out. But I’m having trouble finding the proper parts to order. Any help is much appreciated.

I believe it’s the same part, but what I’m looking for is brass. From the research I’ve done, the older models used brass with a nut, newer went with plastic and a clip inside.

Bt Doctur After doing some more investigation and getting my hands on the motor, I’ve determined that you are correct, that’s the part I need and have ordered. I pulled the broken piece from the transom tonight without removing the drive or gimbal. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to get it back in just as easily.

Which brings me to realize, I’ll have to replace the line going from that part to the reservoir in the outdrive. Any pointers on how to go about doing that? Can it be done without removing the gimbal?
