Gear oil leaking out of lower unit.

Noticed today my alpha 1 gen 2 is leaking gear lube. It is coming out the lowest water inlet hole. Boat has not been out since last season. Trying to think of how lube would get here. I’ll probably replace the impeller and water pump housing but seems to me like it would be coming through the water pump area to come out the water inlet. I don’t live where it freezes.
Ever heard of this before?

Can come from the seal under the water pump. Also can come from the seal at the bottom of the upper gear case where the lower shaft inserts. Can also come from the shift shaft. Or even a funky passageway quad ring between the cases.
