I recently made the mistake as many others, I remove the water drain screw doing so the backing nut fell down was able to retrieve it, but doing so I damaged the plug that goes in the case which houses the drain screw itself. How do I get the plug out of the case.

Welcome aboard. That is not a drain plug. Your drive must come apart to address that fastener

I didn't lose the fastener was able to retrieve it. My problem is I damage the gear case plug which the screw go through to the fastener. The plug is either glued in or somehow fasten into the housing. I need to remove the plug and replace with a new one which I have ordered. I need to know how to remove it.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... How did you end up with the backin' fastener piece, but the screw is still in the housin',..??

If ya pulled the lower, then found the piece, I'm guessin' a PO screwed up, lost the backer piece, then glued the screw in,...

If so,.... Forget about it, it's a non-issue, the hole is plugged,....
