Spent the weekend doing some FG repairs and light lee sanded the entire bottom . Now i want to gel coat cant find info on how many sq. feet a quart will do . I have a 17 Ft. Tri haul and I'm only going up to the water line . Rolling it on should I do one coat or 2?

Re: Gel coat coverage

Um... gel coat isn't going to roll on, it needs to be sprayed on, and you're going to have to do a ton of work afterward to make it look smooth and shiny. It's not a paint, and doesn't behave like one. Check out Oops! hull extension thread to find out about the work he had to do to make his gelcoat look nice.

I'd recommend a nice one part epoxy paint if you're looking for simple with good results.

Re: Gel coat coverage

Just to say we answered the question, for in mold use a gallon of gel coat covers about 80 sq ft, a roll on application for recoating will take about double that amount if you want to sand it out to a smooth finish.

But erik's response is the info you need.
