Any body know any good gel coat repair shops in the St. Petersburg or Pinellas county area. Just punched a screw through and need a nice fix.

There's an inexpensive (supposedly) guy coming out to look at my boat that came recommended from some of my customers. Send me an email at bob@bargainsignsandwraps.com with your contact info and I'll have him call you.

Fixing a screw hole in gelcoat is something a DIY'er can do fairly easily and inexpensively with very good results. Is this above or below the waterline? What Boat? What Year? What color gelcoat? You can easily get the gelcoat color match from the mfg.

Also, do you have access to the inside of the hole?

For a small screw hole, a dremel tool, sandpaper and acetone will do the trick. Black Gelcoat paste and you'll have it fixed in a couple of hours.

Blending that black is a biatch ..

Spectrum Gel is Jet Black = NCP -1465A

Those black hulls are hard to blend in when spraying ( perosity galore ).

If you come to a point where the blend spot is not matching.. Pressure wash the patch to get rid of the blend lines. Actually tell the guys to Buff with a Dark compound instead of the White Compound. .. it can make ther job a bit better on the match.

I have had to add Black pigment to the Factory gel just to make it blacker to match ( they at SR know this )..

Any more questions just ask. :)

YD.
