Gel coat scrape on the keel

I'm considering buying a Chaparral 220 after my Monterey 214 purchase fell through. It's in really oustanding shape except for this scrape on the keel.

For perspective, the pic is shot from under the boat looking up. The scrape is about 8 inches long and appears to be from beaching - it's not a gouge at all. I plan to keep the boat in a slip during the summer and I'm wondering if this is something I should get taken care of before leaving the boat in the slip. It's my first boat so I have no perspective on whether this is a big deal or not, nor how easily gel coat gets scraped away. Worrying about nothing?

Ask the seller to buff it out, if it comes out then you are good.

the gel coat itself is scraped away. the dark material is what's under the white gel coat.

in that case inspect if very closely and make sure there is no cracking. for the time being you could cover it with epoxy based color matched paint, until you can get it properly fixed, in all honesty it wouldn't be that much to have someone at the boat works to touch it up.

no fibers or cracks that i could see. no dents, chunks, or dings in the area. just scratches on the nearby gel coat. the mark is basically like someone took 150 grit sandpaper to the keel. good call on the epoxy paint. didn't figure it would be too expensive to fix - more of a hassle finding someone. so that's why i'm wondering if it's ok to leave in the water "as is". at a min, i'll plan on the paint if i end up buying it.
