gelcoat question

i have a boat the the gelcoat is getting alittle thin can i brush on new gelcoat or does it have to me sprayed i am lookin to get maybe 2-3 more seasons out of the boat before getting a new 1. i am just looking for a cheap quick fix. the floor has some soft spots in it so i am going to sell the boat just trying to buy some time with it to save more money

Use Paint.....<br />You Won't like the Results using Gelcoat...

just regular paint ??? what about where the gelcoat is rubbed though ? also how hard is it to shoot gelcoat i have painted cars is it about the same ?

It is much more difficult thats why almost nobody does it.Get a good marine paint for hulls and spray it on.It may look so good you may keep the boat.I sprayed 2 boats with very good results. CC

I just refurbed my boat (pictures under boat projects) and I used an air dry gel coat. I rolled it on with a foam roller. It gave a nice textured finish (if you want shiny they say you can wet sand to a shiny finish but this was to much work and I liked the results I obtained).<br /><br />I ordered my from here:<br /> air-dry gel coat <br /><br />Just redone it so I am not sure how it will hold up.<br /><br />Something you might want to check into
