Re: General question

Check prop for ventilation or spun hub.

Re: General question

Prop ventilation is when the prop grabs air from the surface and spins in the foam without producing thrust. It is usually caused by the motor being mounted too high or trimmed out too far.

To check for a spun hub mark a line through the end of the prop where it is bolted on. Run her until you get the high rev, then look to see if the outer part of the hub has slipped from the inner part. Most prop shops can re-hub for a lot less than a new prop.

Re: General question

If it was my motor I would leave motor mounted where it is now.
