Can anybody giv me a idea on how to diagnose a spark problem?
From what i understand the trigger is checked first, then stator, coils, then power pack.
Is this the right order?
I have my boat in the shop, and are getting different stories from service manager, then one from the mechanic.
Example....I lost spark after installing a new battery. Took to shop....the service manager says my stator is bad...and possibly power pack. Well he went to lunch...i called back and talked to the mechanic....he said my trigger is bad, and he could only get a faint reading off one of the four leads. What i dont understand is how could the stator be bad when the trigger is not putting any charge to it? Mechanic recommended changing out trigger to then get voltage to the stator. The trigger is bad, so changing it out may cure my problem?
Any help would eliminate the sharade i am living at the local boat shop....jas....
