Have a 2000 sea ray amberjack 290 and i think it came with a westerbeke genny but i put in a cummins onan 6.5. Now it was prewired and the wires i see are 3 wires sort of like a home 3 wire electeical cable and there are postive and negative battery cabkes that dont reach the batteries. I can send pics if needed but need to know how to hook it up.

Agree model number would help

My guess, is the Black/White/Green is the 120V out

The plug is normally feeds into a remote start panel. If a remote panel isn't used it normall works fine without connection

Yes those 3 wires are for the output i know cause it has a plug end spliced in for a portable genny. But do those wires also go to the control panel or is that what the harness is for? I Need to know where to hook those 3 wires as service manual diagram is crap. I know where the battery cables go.

Normal installation of a Gen with shore power those wires feed to a shore power/Gen power breaker. This way you can have either shore or Gen powering the 120VAC outlets. If your boat does not use 120VAC shore power then the breaker is not needed, but should go to a main breaker which feeds all outlets/accessories

The panel has a switch for shore power and generator. Originally came with a westerbeke so will be harder to figure the wires out. Ill just get it hooked up for now amd start it up in the engine bay until i can figure out the control panel

Which 3 wires?

Unsure, but most Gen's will run the same without the extension panel, they are just parallel input

You could wire 12 DC volts or 110 AC as appropriate to the solenoid. Genny starts and the voltage from the generator energizes the solenoid. Shut the generator off and the solenoid de-energizes to close the valve.

Do us all a favor and get rid if the extension cord wire. The orange one. Replace it with marine grade romex.
