Thanks for all the help in the stuck motor thread. The engine is running smooth and quiet.
My first question is in refernece to the trim pump. Keeping in mind the boat sat for almost 4 years. The pump will allow the drive to go down and then fights in increments to get it about 1/4 the way back up then quits. I opened the line to find the fluid coming out very slowly when running the trim switch up, then eventually stopped flowing. I pulled the pump out to look it over, and am thinking its got a stuck check valve inside. The oil was slightly milky indicating some moisture. Before I tear it all apart, has anybody come across this situation and found an easy fix? The cylinders seem to be moving smoothly.
My second question is about the bellows. Are they the small and large rubber boots inside the drive? Is a visual inspection from the outside enough to determine their condition?
I am already to test the boat in the water pending getting the trim pump to function correctly. My kids are dying to go out on it and are driving me nuts! Gotta love em though!
Thanks all!
