Getting closer with my 4.3 L Cobra 4winns

I've replaced the complete I/o, water pump, and rewired using the real OMC Guide. I finally have a real nice cuddy cabin cruser for our little lake. I've had a problem getting the trim gauge to work so I installed a new one. And, my replacement I/O has a new sender(I made sure). The old gauge didn't have a brown/white wire either..Could not get the gauge to work so I installed a new one and for the life of me I cannot find the Brown white wire for the sending senser that plugs into the gauges S terminal. I've been all over the boat and cannot find any brown white wires for that matter at all. Because of the navagations obstructions in my channel leading out to Wawasee Lake in Indiana This gauge is a real plus. Did they change the color of the wire for 1988 4.3 L OMC's? I've even ran a new wire back to the engine compartment just in case and it's non-exsistant...Help!!!!! So close yet so far:facepalm:
