Re: Getting into Ebay

Flathead, nope, none are listed as you say. Just a couple of pieces say"Royal Grafton bone china made in England on the bottom of them. Is that worth anything? PDS(for the record the Packers got a hell of a break with that pick-off in overtime to win over Seattle today. PDS.

Re: Getting into Ebay

PDS I dont know a whole lot about Royal Grafton. It seems to go for about 3 to 15 dollars a piece on ebay. I hear ya about the packers, both teams played a great game. If Seattle would have won I would have been 4 for 4 on my picks. Three out out of four aint bad though.

H,

If it is large I would agree but speed is the key to great feedback (I am a Silver Powerseller with 2540) USPS Priority Mail gets it anywhere in the US & Territories in 2-3 days plus will ship to APOs and PO Boxes. Plus, all the supplies are free (boxes, tape, etc.) When you add those costs to UPS or FedEx you get faster service for about the same price. Plus, you can just hand it to the Postman or local post office. You can use Stamps.com or the USPS website to print your labels and postage and tracking (delivery confirmation) is free. Over 10lbs then I'd go UPS or FedEx. I've probably shipped 10,000 packages USPS Priority and have never once had a problem.

Ralph,

Just my 2¢ worth but I'd go USPS on anything up to 70lbs.... That's the limit. They're faster, cheaper and more efficient. They don't charge you $10.00 to return something if the address was bad or the item was otherwise undeliverable. They make their statistics for ontime delivery available... those other guys say they do a good job but they wont tell you the exact numbers... Just ask Price Waterhouse.

Uh.... just my 2¢. I guess I should mention a slight prejudice here. ;)

Re: Getting into Ebay

That's some interesting information Ralph...

I'll look into their on-line services.
I didn't know you get the tacking stuff free. I knew about some of the packaging being free.

I can't really factor the cost of boxes using FedEx, because I get 99% of my packaging material for free anyways. And it sounds like I'm no where near the selling status as you are.

The main thing that turns me away from USPS is of course all the extra fees and the LINES.
Nothing is more aggravating than listening to Mr. postal worker gab away with a customer's life story. And he knows darn well there is a line or customers wrapped around the building!

Maybe it's just my post office. Maybe not.
Why are all those extra terminals set up with nobody working at them? Looks an awful lot like the DMV!

As I mentioned before, I use FedEx cause I print my own labels. Drop the package off and run. Nice! No lines, no stories. No bs.

I'll check it out Ralph, thanks again.

H.

Homerr

Sorry you had bad experiences at the Post Office.... There're way too many stories like that. :(

On the other hand... give this a try. Click N Ship . It's a secure USPS site where you can set up an account using your credit card and print out labels right on your home computer WITH POSTAGE!

Since you're applying the postage at home there's no need to go to the Post Office and listen to Clem's life story while you wait in line. Just give the package to your mail carrier. Since you did all the work of printing it out at home the tracking (delivery confirmation) is included free.

If you don't want to enter your credit card info online (some folks are squeemish like that) you can still print out the label without postage but then you'll need to take the package to the post office and listen to Clem's life story again.

Of course I'm just a disinterested bystander... uh... just ignore the logo

Re: Getting into Ebay

I'm a big fan Snailman. They are so good that every Christmas I go up to my Post Office and bring them platters of cookies and stuff. They really appreciate the gesture. When we went to our first get together at my son's school I found out that one of the great ladies that works the counter has her daughter in the same school. That's when it really hits home that these people are really your neighbors! :D
