My bunk on one side for the boat is messed up and it also chipped a little bit of gel coat. Can i use a floor jack and 4x4 piece of wood that i put carpet on. To lift that side of boat to do repair, or is there a better way?

Take the wood, carpet, bolts, cordless drill, and anything else you may need with you to the lake next time. A lot easir to work on if the boat is off, then you can do both.

I have done it that way. You need to be sure that you have a thick enough hull and/or long enough piece of wood to support the hull with out going thru it.

Wouldn't try it with an older Bayliner.

Another way it to make up a new bunk and next time you go to the water take it and change it when the boat is off the trailer.
