have a 151/2 whaler sport with a alum. prop wondering if i should go stainless have read some info on site that a 13 1/4 x 19 would work, I have no tach on the boat, would this be advisable?

Re: getting started

You shouldn't make any changes without your present prop, max rpm and speed. At the least you could get poor results,at the worst you could ruin your motor.
Yes a stainless prop will usually improve performance but without the specs it is a crap shoot. You should also optimize your setup as discussed many times by myself and others.Setup alone can net 2-3 mph depending on your present setup. You could get something like a tiny tach easy install, reasonable price, could be used on any similar motor without regard to poles.
