Can anyone help me? I have a 1987 Fountain with twin 454 Mercruiser 370's. The engines are at 33 inch centers. (33 inches apart from center to center.)
I was told that Gil exhaust headers would fit a boat with 33 inch centers. I am installing them and the two center exhaust manifolds do not clear each other. There is about a eighth of an inch overlap. My thought is to mill the face of the exhaust ports on each center manifold about an eighth of an inch each so that they clear each other. Any other ideas? Has anyone experienced this problem installing Gil Exhaust on a boat with 33 inch centers?
