Gimbal and U-Joint Bellows Replacement

Going to be starting on replacing my gimbal bearing and all the bellows. Tried searching on here for tips but wasn’t successful. Is anyone able to provide some tips or a link to a less stressful diy method?

Get the service manual for your outdrive

Read it through before you start

Make sure you have what you will need per the manual

Have the manual handy while you are swapping out the bearing and bellows

Take your time and verify each step.

I do have a PDF of manual 14. I was just wondering if there were any tips or tricks that I should be aware of beforehand?

Transom Serial is OF678438 and Leg is OF380488

Like Scott said, look in the stickys first. Lots of info there.
If you don’t have the alignment bar or not wanting to buy one, I’d suggest not doing the project yourself.
The other must have is the hinge pin tool (there are work around but not worth it). There are work around for the other needed tools.
There are tons of info in this forum about struggles and tips to overcome. Do a google search with “alpha one iboats” and you will get hits on various discussions.
The other MUST have is patients and time.
