The gimbal bearing grease tube, is this water tight? Or should I pull it out and put some kind of sealer around it? I had to replace this tube because the grease fitting pulled right out.

So I installed a new tube with a 45 degree fitting on it, so it is easier to get on and off with grease gun. Problem is, doesn't seem real tight, It seems to be easily spun around with grease fitting, and it isn't the grease fitting that is stripped.

I had the Gimbal bearing replaced last year, and then I had to again this year. They said there was water. Everything looked tight and bellows looked fine.

I had them replace the bellows for good measure this time, but not sure where else the water could come from. I have no water in or under the engine, so no internal leaks.

Hello Don!

Without having to take everything apart, is there anything else that can be done?

If I took the tube out and put a coating of white 3M marine adhesive around where it pushes in, would that work?
