Hi guys, I am curious about the best way to go with my 1967 Hydrodyne. My MC 1 outdrive does not have the provisions for a grease fitting. (There's no hole, passageway, or fitting leading to the bearing race) Looking at the bearing that came with my kit, it's a greasable bearing. However looking at it, it seems like it's only the outer race that receives grease and not the inner bearing. If this is the case, can I not just remove the inner bearing and hand pack the race? I do not see the non-greaseable bearings listed for the older MC 1 drives. but they may be the same size as the newer drives made after that.
PS: I have attached a photo of "Nessie" such named after the Lock Ness Monster as nobody has apparently seen this exact boat. There are a couple close, but 17' boats. Nessie is 19-feet long and powered by a 120hp Mercruiser with the MC-1 outdrive. IF anyone has info about this boat, please let me know. I have looked VERY hard online and can not find this boat, and the people at Hydrodyner's forum are also stumped.
