Gimbal bearing seal

On a 4.3 omc with a cobra outdrive ,Can the seal in front of the gimbal bearing be changed from the back or will the engine have to come out.

it can be pulled after the gimbal bearing is removed

Just thought it would be a good time to do it why I am changing the bearing .It is a 1989 and never been changed. Do you think I should leave it alone<br />Thanks<br />Tony
