Just bought this 2000 Rinker 192 a couple weeks ago. The shift cable bellows has a little hole so may as well replace them all. This morning I started to pull the outdrive apart and noticed the port side gimbal hinge pin was stripped. I was able to hammer the tool in as much as possible, but as soon as I put some force on it, it just spun. Starboard side came out fine.

I ordered new pins. How much of a fight should I look forward to getting that old pin bolt out? Anyone have any tips or tricks?

Ayuh,....... Do you have a welder, 'n know how to use it,..??

If you can still get any grip on it, put so heat to the threaded end to soften the loc-tite, 'n try it again,.....

If it's already destroyed, weld a nut to it, heat the threaded end, 'n turn it out,....

You can try spraying it with kroil a few times in a 24 hr period, then use a screw extractor. Heat up the aluminum with a torch, then immediately use the extractor. Some places you can rent these at a auto parts store for free.

If that doesn't work, weld a stainless bolt onto the hinge pin.

I ordered two new bolt pins for it. The socket/tool isn't much. Maybe I'll see if there's room to weld/tack it to the bolt and try to heat the assembly to loosen the loc-tite. I'm wondering if the person that last installed these pins used red loc-tite instead of blue.

Ayuh,..... The tool is just a 1/2" allen key,......

Either loc-tite softens with heat,....
