Glass repair question.

Hi fellow boaters.

I'm thinking of purchasing this 2002 Maxum SC 2300 because it was an insurance write off from the previous owner just because they broke the passenger side window. The insurance company couldn't find someone to fix it so I was just wondering if there are any side companies that would repair / replace this?

The insurance company wants $5000 Canadian for this boat. Is there anything else I should be worried about as well?

Thanks

I think that is a good deal.-------I can't believe that they could not find a shop to fix this.-------Looks easy simple to me.-----I would simply find another windshield to fit that.-------59E is a Barrie registration.-----Lots of places in that area that can fix this.

while the effort to fix the window is easy.

try finding it. it is available from TMS (Taylor Made Systems ) get a price. my guess the windscreen assembly complete is about $5k USD

being that the boat is 18 years old. what shape is the transom, stringers, and floor? I bet there is moisture in there somewhere.

yeah check it over really well. The tabs and sterndrive show it was a moored boat and up there no real covering other than canvas water has gotten in there over the years.

Ayuh,..... Curved glass windshields are hard to come by, 'n expensive from the Oem, if it's even available any more,......

Flat glass windshields are relatively easy to fix, if ya got the frame,......

or just remove the good side. there is no law that says a boat has to have a windshield.
