Hate to tell you, but if there's Thompsons water seal on it, its of no value in this project. Nothing will stick to it, so save it for another job.

Yea why would someone put water seal on PT wood? It can be dried for a year or so and then something might stick to it.

Ooooh. Like Ondarvr said, its not good. Thompsons has a lot of wax, so things don't stick.

If you want to use pressure treated, go buy some new sheets. Let it dry for a week or so. The APA tests showed that resin applied to 90% moisture pressure treated wood stuck almost as well as dry wood. In fact, it was the wood that split apart, not the resin that pulled free from the wood. So don't worry to much about the moisture content. Just let the surface dry out. Tests show that resin doesn't penetrate more than 1/64 - 1/32 or so into the wood. So as long as the top layer is dry, you will get as good a bond as if the entire core is dry.

Thompsons? Not sure how that came to be but like the others have said. Forget trying to use it. You have no chance making that work.

We do not tell anyone to use "water sealer" here in the restoration section...... got another project that needs wood?
