Glasspar help!

i bought a 16 foot glasspar on a nice trailer and a 40hp johnson a few months back. iv been restoring it ever since. it is nearing the end but i still dont know what model it is. where can i enter the serial number in? its still readable on the small plate near the stern. any suggestions?

Hi lehkyc. Congrats on the progress thus far. If there is an ID plate, they're usually found in the upper right hand corner of the stern.I may also have a million coats of paint over at this point. Of course you may not have one at all :/ Most boats weren't required to have HIN numbers unitl the mid 70's, so if it was built prior to that, there may not be a plate at all. Posting a pic would help. Try checking fiberglassics.com too. they have pics and catalogs of all kinds of old f'glass, wood and aluminum boats. Keep us posted.

If it's an older Glasspar, the serial # will be mounted on a plate somewhere forward in the boat, usually not on the stern... If it's a factory code, it's decipherable, you can figure out model, when and where it was built (they had several factories), and other info.
