GLM and Sierra lower unit gears

I am a distributor here in Venezuela for Sierra and GLM, I deal with Johnson/Evinrude and mercury outboards, the problem comes with lower unit gears for this brands, 7 out of 10 gear sets brake before 50 hours, we really think problem are more instalation related than the quality of the products, but having people complaining about what I sell makes me think if I should just stop selling this particular items, some friends in the states (not sierra or glm people) tell me there are no problems with this brands and that actually the same companies wich make these gears make the oem, any thoughts on this???

Before you make any decisions call this number - 941-637-9600 and talk to Fred. He has done gear testing for the last 8 or 9 years and can tell you everything you want to know about those brands. He also has done testing on others that do work. Its well worth the call.<br /><br />Let me know how you make out or if there is anything else I can do to help.<br /><br />Good luck!

One of my supplier's reps is supposed to bring the rep for Sierra/Aqua Power with him tomorrow(Friday)-I'll show him your post and see what he says !

zzzzz I would like to know what your supplier has to say, I already talk to Fred (as Dhadley told me)and he gave me some thougths about this gears, I will be contact him again this afternoon and see another options, thanks

Okay-got the lowdown from our rep...stay away from GLM,but Sierra is okay and yes they do make some OEM parts for the engine manufacturers and they also buy OEM parts and put Sierra name on them !! and Hi to dale Hadley from Flagship!
