Global Warming? What About This?

You old timers will remember this: In January, 1959, an event occurred which lowered the average temperature of the United States slightly more than two degrees Farenheit. What was it? I heard this on the radio and thought it interesting. I didn't get it right even though I was around at the time. I'll sure you will do better, as this site is a wealth of information.

The first delta rocket was fired,the first space capsule crashed into the moon,Fidel Castro took over in Cuba.naah that can't be it.<br />Oh of course,Alaska became a full fledged state!!!

Good for you rolmops. I guessed volcanos, huge forest fires, etc. Just shows how statistics can be used to push an agenda. I guess it went back the other way when Hawaii became a state.
