Hey all! So heres the deal, I bought a few quarts of gluvit, flipped the boat, sanded the hull, bucked all the rivets, and put down the first coat of gluvit:). I brushed it over all the seams and rivets, BUT I did not cover the entire bottom......So I guess I want to know if I have to cover the whole bottom or just the rivets and seams?

I plan on putting another coat down so this is why I ask...

I know a few of you guys told me to put it on the inside rather than the exterior bottom. But I plan on covering all the seams and rivets on the inside aswell!! I have dealt with far too much water in the past to not go ahead and do both applications:(. PLEASE ANY AND ALL SUGGESTION OR TIP WOULD BE EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!!

THanks

Agreed, that stuff is too expensive to cover the whole hull anyways:D

Got some pics of your project? Start a resto thread if you want, it helps to get qustions answered if folks know what you are working with.

Re: Gluvit Questions!!!!!

Welcome to iboats!

Where you apply the gluvit should also be out of direct sun or it will need paint.

People have applied gluvit as a barrier coat on the exterior of the hull on the bottom.

The seams and rivets are the key. It can be used on wood also.

What are you working on?
