gm305 v8 year 1978-79
I had put SAE20-50 oil but after suspecting it for irregular behaviour of the cylinders i changed to SAE30.When adjusting the valves i noticed that the oil at first and the last one of the valves of the starboard side couldn't reach the top of the straws. After turning the straws and taping with my finger their holes oil started coming out.But until when?
Generally i suspect that the lubrication of the starboard side valves is not as good as portside's valves. What may that mean? What should i do ?It sounds crazy but i think of puting pieces of glass at the valve cover!!!!!PLEASE HELP.

Re: gm305 valve lubrication problem

I don't think you have an Issue,.......

Are the Rockers Gawled where the Pushrods(straws) contact them,..??..??......

If Not,...... Put it back together,+ Go Boating........

At rpms,.... There'll be Plenty of Oil splashing around under those Valve Covers........
There's Very Little volume,+ pressure at Idle..........
