The stingrays do sit back pretty far off the AV plate, so your trim must be lifting the whale tail rear portion out pretty well.

If it's not slowing you down, not sure why the switch, but you're not risking much dough. Unless your thinking acceleration.

Can you post the diameters for moose, so I don't have to go look them up. Thanks

Sorry my bad. I just looked it up. I did not know 4 blade props did not have different sizes for each pitch like 3 blade props.

So the Alpha 4 aluminum was a 14" x 20"p and the SS Titan is 14 1/8" x 18"p

Sure...the aluminum 4-blade was 14 x 20 and the new 4-blade stainless is 14.13 x 18.

I thought maybe the down turned stingray might be holding me back some at acceleration and mid range cruising. Worth the $40 to give the SE Sport 300 a try!

Jestor, Besides supporting Mr Doelcher, the original inventor, what are you thinking when it comes to all the Doel-Fin copycats being the wrong one?

I'm thinking that I favor the Doel Fin, regardless of who the inventor was.

Your dough. We've put them on and no complaints. The SE does have an interesting design as it sits on top of plate and used 2 different sized rubber washers to elevate the rear.

The way the wing is designed and with the longitudinal channels, I can see how it would hold and direct rearward a lot of flow during hole shot and acceleration.

If it comes out of the water during cruising with trim you won't has any parasitic loss and I can see how it might help with porpoising, since it would grab/channel lots of flow preventing bow rise.

I kind of reminds me of Bennetts trim tabs where they'll bend the side of the tab downward on each side, so it traps more water and it performs like a larger tab, since it doesn't lose trapped water out the side.
