Going "nuts" with my 1974 7.5hp Mercury

Hello all, I recently removed the flywheel from my 1974 7.5hp Mercury. Upon doing so I somehow misplaced the nut that secures the flywheel. After serching for it at home I gave up and decided to purchase one at a local hardware store. After purchasing some that I thought were the correct fit I bought the incorrect ones. Does anyone know the size of this nut which is now driving me "nuts"? I tried ordering the nut from Boats.net but it is no longer available and with MarineEngine.com I would have to buy it in multiples of five with the order. The engine serial # is 3804990. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
