I want to change my prop from a 14x23 3 blade aluminum to a stainless.
I want better hole shot and cruising performance. I am not concerned with top end that much. My current specs are 4.3L 190hp. WOT 4500, should be 4800 max. Drive is alpha one 1.81:1. Top speed is about 48 mph gps.
I finally was able to ski and I need better hole shot.
Which prop would help me acheive this. 3, 4 or 5 blade, and what pitch. Thanks for any help.

Guess the best combo would be drop to a 14x21 3 blade stainless. Bring up your rpm, give you better hole shot and could be it won't drop top end much. The stainless will give you better efficency and should be nice.

Re: Going to stainless

I tried a 14 x 23 4 blade on my boat that is amazing. It's not as fast as my 14 3/4 x 23 4 blade but I didn't expect it to be. Contact me via IM or at dhadley50@aol.com and I'll get you the specifics, it might be what you're looking for. Great holeshot and carries well at even lower speeds. Has what they call a "J" cup.
