I'm taking the family to the NJ Boat show in Edison Sunday. From what I read it should have a lot to see. The copy reads:

"Over 375 boats(15' to 35') will be on hand, from center console fishing boats to offshore sport fishing boats, bow riders to sport cruisers, personal watercraft to bass boats, deck boats to aluminum boats and more! More boats than ever before will be available for you to examine, compare and purchase."

I have never been to a boat show before. I'm hoping that all these boats will be open and available to check out. I'm intereseted in seeing what the 17 - 23 ft cuddy cabins are like. But it seems like this is a "sale show" and I'm afraid of getting a hi pressure sales pitch every time I climb into a boat.

Also want to check out some of the big hp 4 cycle outboards.

What should I expect?

Do your homework. The few small (tiny) shows thay have had up here in Saratoga, NY and Glens Falls have been big scams. They inflated the prices and then reduced them to "SALE" prices for the show only. Well the show prices were actually still over-inflated. Even the left over models (low end Bayliner) that were $9995 last year had been reduced to $10895??? A price increase on a leftover??

Some of the dealers are trying to re-coop there loss from last season with the gas prices.

All in all you should go and have fun.

I love boat shows. Here in DC you can crawl in, under and all over the boats without a problem. Occasionally the bayliner guys will try to high pressure you but over all, no problems.

We have a small combined, Boats and Sportsman
show here annually.
I enjoy going and salivating over all tha new
models. It helps to relive some of the excitement
I fell every spring when the boat gets pulled
out of storage.
This year there was a couple of Harbourcraft
Kingfisher's in the line up. A 28 ft and a 25 ft
got my juices flowing in early febuary.
