Gone Ali to Stainless Quicksilver on Merc V6 results

Just changed out a stock Ali 21p prop to a Quicksilver 21p (with the air vents in front of prop) - very Impressed with results, out of the whole is much quicker, top end 2mph better. Motor is a carbed 150 Merc V6 outboard and my boat is a 19ft ski boat.

Main benefit is out of the hole - motor is in power band and pulling much quicker than stock Ali prop. I reckon it planes out 40% faster than the stock prop.

Hope this helps anyone contemplating a stainless Quicksilver prop.

Did it change anything in your RPM top end ? since you went with same pitch as what you had in alum ?

Hi, yes the 21p stainless pulls a little less than the Ali (guess it's not flexing as much) - only about 150rpm less. It's pulling 5,100 RPM flat out at 46mph - that said my boat is heavy and wide beam and that was in 1ft -2ft chop so couldn't hold it wide open for long.

Not sure what the RPM should be to be honest.
