Hi all, have a 96 15hp 2 stroke johnson outboard and while replacing all gaskets noticed what i thought was grease is actually the resin that the under flywheel magneto and pick up are or were filled with. The motor runs smoothly and starts easily hot or cold. Anyone else have this situation

It will not be for long....

The goo is coil insulating epoxy
Results of a overloading/failure in the electrical system.
Thanks Dingbat, I'm trying to source a replacement stator. With both the coil and trigger being affected im assuming the cdi should also need replacing.
