Hi, I'm new to the forum and to boating. I've been looking to purchase a boat for a few months and have decided a pontoon boat best suites my activities. I recently found a new 2008 Suncatcher 208F with a 70hp 2-stroke. Dealer said it is a repo from another dealership, therefore allowing them to sell it for less than normal. I was quoted $15,700 out the door. Boat has bimini top and trailer.

Any thoughts on this boat and if this sounds like a good deal for last years model with a 2-stroke? Also, will this setup be able to pull an adult tuber or skiier? Any info anyone can give me about this boat is greatly appreciated as I know zero about boats and am not very mechanically inclined.
Thanks, Josh

I looked for Sunchaser on NADA.com and it was not listed so I assume that is the model and not the make. Go to NADA.com with the make and model of the boat and motor and you'll be able to get a ball park price and throw in about a grand for the trailer.

In today's market, that seems high to me. If that is their asking price then you can offer substantially less and chances are you will get it.

Last December, I bought a 2009 24' Bentley with a 115hp 4-stroke without a trailer for $15,000 out the door. I bought it in Ga. and had to register it in Fl. so that was an extra $1200. That low price may have been due to to rumors that Bentley went out of business but I have not been able to confirm that. And of course you can usually get better deals during the early winter months.

You can pull a tuber but I doubt if you'll get a skier up.

Good luck and welcome to the Pontooners family.
