Hey Guys, I just came across another pontoon that we are interested in and thought I would get your feedback. This is a 2000 Odyssey and has a depth finder and livewell. Everything has been checked over at the dealer and all checked out good. They said the upholstery is good for it's age, just one seat that has a spot that the stitching could be fixed. I appreciate any feedback you can give me, I appreciate your guys knowledge!

Looks a bit pricey to me. Make sure you check the floor. I would want a water test run if i was going to be paying that kind of money. It is a 13 year old boat with a smaller outboard...cash talks!

20' Pontoon with 50HP? Have fun getting anywhere over 15mph (I know most pontoons aren't speed demons), also only a single axle trailer. I'd pass on it personally due to engine size, but if you're okay with it, I'd be offering $6-6.5K.

Pretty normal for that size boat. Our 22 has a 50HP on it. As for the single axle trailer, that is a bonus in terms of maneuverability - that boat/engine/trailer probably weighs around 2700lbs total.

Price does seem a bit high for where I live.

Probably not a bad boat for pluggin' around on the lake. But I agree it's pricey for what it is.

I know that it's usually the minimum option. I'd prefer a 75-90HP. I can't think of a whole lot of times that I needed more maneuverability with the boat trailers. Sure, if you are moving them around in really tight quarters, or moving them by hand . . . I move my boats with a truck, which doesn't care how many axles are there. I can see the argument when you get to triple axles simply on a tire-wear point.

Has more to do with getting them in and out of tight garages - ours gets stored in a garage where the door is 4" wider than the boat and at a right angle to the driveway - so it gets hand pushed - the dual axle makes that suck a lot. Also on pontoon sized tires - 90 degree turns with the trailers tend to be pretty hard on them.

See, just one more reason not to buy a pontoon!

LOL - the pontoon is actually my parents boat, I'm just the mechanic, launch and storage technician ;) For them something wide with a 50HP is about as powerful as they should go.

Our 28" pontoon only has a 70 and the 20 before it only had a Johnson 48spl the 28' sits on a single axle trailer. I wouldn't sweat it. The price is kind of steep, I would be at 6500 and make them fix the stitching on the bad seat.

Thanks for the replies guys. The bad part about our area is that boats run at premium prices, and it doesn't help that we are at the beginning of boating season either I suppose. It's amazing what prices some people have on some rough boats around here! Ill have to see if I can get a chance to take a look at it this weekend and see what their bottom line is. Thanks again for your feedback.

Hey, my 2012 24' Bennington tritoon with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke is running 40 mph, and it runs great. I may be retired, but I'm not old enough to run a 50 hp twin toon. I like something that's seaworthy and can promptly get me home if storms come up.

And a 20' pontoon boat really doesn't need a tandem axle trailer for most people.

You can look up boat values on NADA.com. It looks like a clean boat, however I don't fish and prefer a cruise model.

Sounds more like $5500 - $6K. Soon to be a 14 yo 'toon with a 50 hp. A weekend trip with a tow vehicle sounds profitable.

There's big difference in 150HP and 50HP, lol. I would think anything over 90HP would be decent, that's why I said I'd detract value from their asking price. Doesn't mean the boat won't be functional, just wouldn't have the performance I'd want from it.

Everything has been checked over at the dealer and all checked out good.

Have you ever heard of a used car salesman? Check everything yourself or have someone else look at it.
