Well, it happened. My AOL sub is about to shut down (October 24th). However, I'm now on Earthlink.net, under the same screename. As for which is good news/ bad news, that's up to the individual forum friend's viewpoint.
Just in time, I landed a new job, and the buget is intact .... Well, sorta, anyhow.
But AOL still had to go, as they are way too politically polarized ,and have been absorbed by Time/Warner over a year ago. These are the same commy clowns that own Disney among others.
It's kinda like sleeping with the devil.
But I'm elated to be online, alive, and well.
I thank God.

ANYTHING BUT AOL!!!

One thing I really hate is any kind of monopoly.
AOL is one of the largest (next to our government) LOL

Besides...AOL's service is garbage (imo)
I had them for a very brief period several years ago...You know...the time of all the busy signals? I don't know if the service has got any better.

Two cans and a string is better than AO-hell.

H.

12 you may find your new service better than aowell. I use a same provider he works the servers she works the front desk! customer service (help) sucks, but I don't need it anyway. glad things are working out for you!
Richard

Thanks, y'all it's good to be here still. It was touch-n-go there for a spell.
Homer, yes, they improved the logon, and it's quicker by far, getting online, then it used to be.
I just can't stomach them. They allow porn popups, amoung others, right thru "messenger Service" software This did not happen with version 6AOL, but as soon as I "upgraded", all hell broke loose! I've tried evey firewall known to exist,to no avail.
I think what they are doing is ilegal anyhow. If it isn't, it oughta be! I pay a premium for thier service, and get spammed into a temper-tantrum. On top of thier commercialism, and using my access to sell my name to others, they have the nerve to try and tell me Pat Robertsom wants to blow up the State Department (don't ask, long story)...

Then, thier "poling"...Allways good for a laugh----and then a cursing-session.

I've been with them for years because I pay anually,as opposed to monthly. By the time I could learn the terms were up, the fee for the following year is allready paid....I caught thier sorry tails this time, because the card they used had an expired date, and they wanted the new one (hehehehe).
I would wish that ISP on Jessie Jackson!
