hi folks,water discharge on 90 hp johnson(2001) partly stopped up so i got a wire and stuck in pee hole. wire had insulation (rubber) on it and insulation came off in pee hole.water still comes out but am afraidit will clog up .whats involved taking out water tube??

if worried, remove and replace the hose. you should be able to get that from any auto parts store. :)

thanks guys,i unscrewed the pee hole adaptor and there was the insulation that came off the wire.whew! very simple, it also had a lot of sand packed around the inslation restricting the flow of water.all is good now(peeing is great)

Just 'cause it's peeing does not mean it's cooling. If you had sand packed around the discharge, you may have it packed elsewhere. I would recommend pulling the T-stat cover and double checking. I had a problem recently where I sucked mud, lost pee stream, then pee stream came back and off I went. Well I overheated and fried the head and powerpack and all b/c mud was packed in the T-stat blocking water flow.

The pee discharge and the cooling circuit flow in parallel. Meaning you CAN have one without the other. Best to be safe, although if you ran it and it did not overheat you are probably OK.
