Hey y'all I m looking for some advice on wether to make a trade for a 2007 Bentley cruise 200 with the 50hp merc. I am trading a 4 wheeler I was asking $4250 for or trade and was offered this boat as a trade. Owner has titles and says everything works great just cosmetic issues.

The pontoon supposedly runs perfect but needs all the seats redone. I m not decided if I would keep it yet, or turn around and sell it after the trade to increase the profit I get from the 4 wheeler.

I was just wonder what everyone on here thought this thing might be worth when the seats are redone. I have a guy here local that does great work for a fair price, but his estimate will definitely factor into whether or not I make the trade.

Thanks in advance

Personally... I would pass.
You can order new seats and have them shipped for close to what it costs to have those redone.
A few other things I see as issues.
1. Boat is somewhat underpowered except for slow crusing.
2. Trailer appears pieced together and a bit ragged looking
3. Metal fence covering bent up can't really be straightened to look right.
4. If carpet don't clean up. It's a major job to replace it. You must remove all seats, outside fence, helm, and outer band. THEN start replacing carpet before re installing all of above.

Unless this is a boat you have a use for and want to do some work on, I would pass.
I couple years ago I bought a 2006 24' with 90 hp merc 4stoke for $5,000. Had seats redone and it gave good service until I sold it this fall. It had a good factory trailer (with fenders etc) and no sidewall damage. I broke even on it, so used it for cost of gas, insurance, and maint. Pretty good. The bigger the motor the more marketable the boat will be.

Just my .02 and opinion. Best of luck to you!

Ok thanks! I m not looking to break even, I can turn a profit on this 4 wheeler I rebuilt. If there was a chance I could increase that profit I was all over it, but if not it's not worth my troubles. There is a chance I might've kept the boat, but most likely just a flip project.

Yes, I couldn't figure out the first time how to upload where you didn't have to download the attachment.

Welcome aboard.

When was she on the water last? Don't forget all sellers will tell you it runs perfect. Show the pics to the upholster and get a rough idea what the price will be. Have a few drinks before looking at the estimate and then decide.

There isn't one good seat and the vinyl flooring is also shot. The tin is beat up and it's hard to tell what the decking is like in the pics. Open the bimini and look at it. Take her on the water instead of taking the sellers word. He has all 3 titles?

Do you do any boating?

if you want to make a small fortune flipping boats, start with a large one. BOAT stands for Break Out Another Thousand.

As she sits that thing is worth barely $2k. It's been really trashed.

I live just off the lake, a minute from the closest ramp, and go with my in laws wake boarding and fishing a lot. They have a lake house so I thought this might could be fun. I bought a boat years back for $1600 kept it for a few years then sold it for $3000. I m definitely not a boater by any means and pontoons are something that are new to me. If I kept it I would want the option to know I could turn a profit down the road and it seems pretty loud and clear with talks advice this is not the boat to do that with. I appreciate the quick and helpful responses from y'all.

remember, when restoring a boat, you do it for yourself, not the value. for example, you can take this $1000 boat and dump $12000 into it to end up with a $5000 boat that will put a smile on your face and last a long time. you will not end up with a $13,000 boat.

I think you have made a wise choice. If something looked good about her, it might be worthwhile. Just not this one.

your looking at a minim of 2000 and 50 hours of labor to fix some ones else mess and thats not counting motor repairs, and as abused as the boat is i am sure it will need some

That thing needs a total restoration. I was assume to that the motor needs lots of work. Its worth about 1500 to 2000. If it were cherry....its probably worth about 10k. It's a small pontoon too...most people want 22 footers these days.

Then theres the toons....what if they leak.

I don't think its a flip project, its more of a "buy it cheap and make it want I want and then use it...project". If you do a nice job, you should get your money out of it.
