Gorgeous Riva runabout owned by Ferrucio Lamborghini restored

The Riva Aquarama Lamborghini was built 45 years ago for and commissioned by Ferruccio Lamborghini, founder of the Italian sports car brand. The fastest Aquarama in the world is once again ready to cast off after being restored to original condition.

For years the rare runabout was stashed away in the corner of a boatyard, hidden from the world.

Enthusiasts were aware of the existence of Ferruccio Lamborghini?s Riva Aquarama, but didn?t know where the legendary sports boat was after its owner passed away in 1993.

She's purty alright - and I really do like the Riva boats. But that's a heckuva' lotta' hull for only being able to stack about 6 people into :der:

You're right though moose, she's gotta' run nice with all 24 crankin' away.

Kogs, it's not about hauling people. No, no, it's about posing with twin V-12's. That's why she has no motor cover or sun pad over those powerhouses.

That's boat's a two seater, and if you need to worry about how many it hauls, then this isn't your kind of boat. What nice lines that thing has, just like the engines he made, works of art.

How long until someone complains that you can't fish off that thing, and it doesn't include livewells!

Sweet boat though, absolutely utterly impracticable but incredibly beautiful.

The chicks you get are the rod holders!!! No stabbing cabin though but it does have a back seat lol That is definitely one unbelievably sexy boat! Love the light blue upholstery.

Totally get that. And I'm a designer, so don't think the aesthetics are lost on me at all. Like I said, Riva makes 'em real pretty. Just found the conflict of size and power interesting.

Totally get that. And I'm a designer, so don't think the aesthetics are lost on me at all. Like I said, Riva makes 'em real pretty. Just found the conflict of size and power interesting.

Agreed, I was a bit surprised she only topped out at 48 knots despite 700 HP loaded into her. She must be hefty and perhaps a less adjustable inboard?

so two things that are surprising.. those engines only put out 350hp each? and 48 knots? yeah i would have expected a little better than that. Imagine the fuel consumption at WOT!

^Right? One would think a 12 pack would be burlier but evidently that was Lambo's first vehicle in the mid sixties, and was only sized to 3.5 litres.

Check out the second vid clip, she goes WOT around the 2:10 mark and sounds like an aircraft.

this boat is about style. Back in the day it was a performance boat. if you want utility buy a tri toon with a 300hp outboard.

Ordered 1968, rated at 48 k ~55 mph. Sounds good to me. In the video he was close to that and only had WOT for a few seconds before the turn, so never let those v12s wind out. Boy do they sound good and they had a lot more to go.
Just one fantastic boat.

6,100# dry is what I could find on a '65 model. Add the two twelve packs and you've got a beast! Though, I would bet it runs as smooth as silk even in some chop.
