With my 83 70hp Johnson lowered all the way down
Engine runs a little rough. But still runs
Tilt my engine up about half way engine begins to clear and runs much smoother a higher idle.
Any ideas?
I have done the kits replacing needle, float and seat assembly. Ensuring the floats were level with the carb body when inverted.
Thanks much

Sure do!!
Odds are the increased backpressure caused by positioning the prop/hub exhuast lower in the water is the culprit. A drop in idle rpm and a little stutter from richening under load is perfectly normal. When setting up or adjusting timing, idle, etc..., be sure to position the motor as close to your normal running postion and all will be well.
Good luck

Using muffs sorry forgot to mention that.
And if someone could tell me the easiest way to keep my brushes in place on my starter to get it back together you'll save the last remaining hair I have left in my head.
Thanks guys
