Got a old Chrysler 70hp cant find a ID tag anywhere

Hello,

Got a old Chrysler 70hp I cant find a metal ID tag anywhere to give me the proper Model or year of this outboard. Any ideas? it has 404 on the block and it has 369072 on the transom mount. but other than that I have looked everywhere and I cant find a model or serial number for this outboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of ignition system does it have?
Beltdriven distributor Magnapower or magneto CDI Prestolite system with 2 CDI modules?
Distributor system is previous 1980, Prestolite from about 1981 and up.

If you look at the block under where the Prestolite ignition components are mounted there would be a stamp in the block casting. It is a circle with the year in the center of the circle.
Pic of the engine and the hood can also help us to find out the year.
70Hp was made from 1969 and up to 1973 then it came back in 1979-1980 i believe.

Under the bottom carb on the intake might be another foundry stamp.

its a Beltdriven distributor Magnapower. I did see this number stamped on the block on the bottom of the intake f749625. Below the carb's I see a stamp that says 85779 Baffle Air Intake

Those numbers are partnumbers.
Looking at the pic with the back of the hood I can say it is a 1971-73.
I will say it is a 1971, 72 or 73, there are no difference between those years.
Look at the starboard side of the engine block and you will found a circle stamp in the casting with the year in the center.
