Boat worked very well for over an hour on lake. 92 thompson 4.3 merc. Now Idles and a lil more throttle but anything more was a problem. Was all of a sudden though. Seems like a engine issue. Outdrive seems good. Just odd all of a sudden to not throttle up and shaked a bit but didn't want to hurt something so trailed it up. Just got this boat. 1st inboard outboard but seemed for family friendly now that I have a family. Any help will be appreciated. Thx.

welcome aboard.

with any used boat, you must assume that none of the maintenance items have been done

so start with your fuel system maintenance and work your way thru the rest of the systems

start at the fuel tank, and clean that, inspect the anti-siphon valve, change the fuel filter, and pull the carb apart and give it a good cleaning, then a new carb kit.

then pull the drive and do all the driveline maintenance

agree with what was said above and also if you are still having issues next time... open your fuel cap and see if you can throttle up then... your fuel tank vent might be clogged
