We got her home, definite leak in the bellows and definite cooling prob.

We rode till she got hot the shut her down and cooled her off.Impellar seems to be pumping. We took of hose that comes from impellar and it pumped water.I'm thinking i got promblems with the thermostat and definetly got issues with the circulating pump.

But YaY its in the drive so i will be asking alot of questions soon. Thanks for all yer help in advance.

You probably have problems with the water ports in the exhaust being plugged up too. You can pump all the water into the engine you want, but if it doesn't go out, you overheat.
Pull the riser and check the water passages.

Re: Got Her Home YAY!!!!,Now the real work begins....

Just flushed it for 20 mins on the muffs....

stayed rite at 140F.....

Also am i suppose to have alot of water out of the prop or just a trickle?

It appears that i have an exhaust leak.....(smoke up thru the engine compartment )and where i believe is the bellows.

Does anyone have a breakdown drawing of the bellow parts?

kinda foriegn to me rite now.....

i downloaded one manual from here and have a installation manual my neighbor let me borrow......

Thx again....I am really excited.....!

Now you got my attention real fast!

You say you got a leak and the water is comming in BELOW the drive shaft.......Do you see it comming in from the same opening as the shaft and its running down below the shaft?

I may have the same problem with my boat but I can use it. I am IN no danger of sinking so it sounds like you leak is HUGE where mine is just a drip drip drip.

BELOW the drive shaft

Yes,sounded like a waterfall at first, then looked like you stuck a hose wide open in the back of the boat.worked out ok because the oil pan had it's OWN raw water cooling....hehe

(and she was pouring out both sides of the outdrive before i pulled the plug out).

That Belows must be completly rotted through. ( NON EXISTANT ) I had an exhause bellows that was basicly rotted in to on a boat 10 years ago.

I have a feeling my drive belows is leaking....

pull the drive. ya'll know if yer gettin water into the bellows area. the rust on everything will be the giveaway i'd think.

an exhust bellows leak don't leak water into the boat....

any leak that causes water to come inside yer boat is a possible life threating situation. i think it should be takein most seriously......

if ya ran that boat out of the water, w/o water. the impeller is gone. the little pieces of it will flow with the water too. up twards the engine. little pieces can get hung up in the tstat or any other cooling passage and prevent water flow......
