got some pics. looking for info on motor

So I was walking around dads place today and decided to see if the vast knowledge of this site could shed some info on these motors.. Dad told me the 115 hp ran in 1996 but transom was rotten... the other little motor has never ran rite but he has no idea what or who made it.. The OMC is a boat that was left to me.. sorta came withe the property...... If ya got some good info on them.. good bad.. love to hear it... fhink 115 might do well on a 21ft pontoon..[/I]Crap.. sorry i think i posted this in the wrong place....

Little one looks like maybe an Elgin??

The blue motor is the preverbial small block Chevy, maybe a 327, or possibly a 283? Dont remember 283's being in boats.....but alot of 327's were.....

ChrisCraft used a lot of 283's in the day. If the V6 stern drive is on the same boat the V8 is in, either the engine or the drive was swapped.

The OMC Sterndrive looks more like an early 90's Cobra unit from the joint OMC/Volvo venture days. The engine is definitely GM based, probably a 305. In 1993 a 5.0l 2bbl Cobra was 185hp.

The blue engine and OMC sterndrive are from the late 80's, '86-'89 I bet. If they are from the same boat then I am not sure why the emblem on the drive says V6 other than a swap was done or maybe that was common drive and internals are the same, just different emblem.

I was utubing and i think this mariner is the same motor they call the tower of power... I think whey i get some free time im going to see if i can get it to run... Anybody know how they do on the newer ethanol gas.... This thing was a screamernwhen i was a kid but dad had to put AMACO WHITE.. 97 octane if i rember... I also found some numbers on the old blue motor... anybody know when i can look up model numbers? thanks again. Jake
